The Journal of Peace Research is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes scholarly articles and book reviews in the fields of peace studies, conflict resolution, and international security. Its scope is similar to that of the Journal of Conflict Resolution. Founded by Johan Galtung in 1964, it is published bi-monthly since 1998. The journal’s editorial offices are located at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and was edited by Nils Petter Gleditsch 1983-2010. Since October 2010 the editor is Henrik Urdal.

Journal of Peace Research is an international and interdisciplinary journal of scholarly work in the field of Peace Research. The journal focuses on violence and conflict resolution, often publishing issues with a special focus on a particular area of research. Journal of Peace Research provides a forum for debate about peace and society.
